Learning the “Principal” of Exercise at Jazzercise of South Tampa
Sarina Fazan loves to exercise, and she loves hanging out with her daughter Sammie.
Today, the mother-daughter duo are going to Jazzercise of South Tampa, to learn about the principle of exercising from Sammie’s school principal, Bridgid Fishman! Joining them for a pulse-pounding, beat-pumping full-body dance cardio workout are some of Sammie’s best friends, their moms, and even Sarina’s business partner.
Bridgid, who is both a principle Jazzercise instructor and elementary school principal, believes what makes Jazzercise so awesome is how the exercise program incorporates the elements of dance. She says, “I love to dance, so it is a great workout because it is heart-healthy with the cardio and with the weights and strength.”
Simone Breeze says exercising with her daughter Chloe makes it more enjoyable. “We have a lot of fun doing it together, and we can encourage each other. She can make fun of me, and we have a good time,” she explains with a laugh.
Simone’s daughter Dasha agrees that exercising together makes it more fun!
The importance of that mother-daughter bond is clear among the Jazzercise class participants.
Lisa Krawetz, who exercised alongside her daughter Chloe, says, “Loved it! I think you can tell I am still red! I had a great time, but I loved looking over at Chloe too doing it with me!”
Chloe comments that the best part was when she noticed her mother smiling at her during the workout.
“Pure joy just looking over and seeing her next to me. Yeah, I loved it,” Lisa adds.
Tanya Cielo, Sarina’s business partner and owner of Sky Strategic Marketing, thinks that exercise can help create a connection. “I thought it was a really special day because I got to really see the families connect. Mothers and daughters working out together at the same time, to the same song, doing the same moves,” she says.
Instructor Bridgid also appreciates how Jazzercise promotes women empowerment. “We have an amazing community, and, as a woman, I think it’s important that when you have strong women friends, you’re a strong woman. So, I love it for the community as well,” she explains.
Of course, a mother-daughter day isn’t complete without some good-natured teasing. When Sarina asks her daughter Sammie about the best part of working out together, Sammie responds, “I thought it was funny that you kept messing up!”
