Wounded Warriors in Action
Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation (WWIA) is a national 501(c)(3) public charity that devotes all its energy and resources to supporting the men and women wounded in combat who were awarded the Purple Heart medal. WWIA supports these phenomenal Heroes by providing them with the opportunity to participate in world-class outdoor sporting activities at no cost to them. We do this to recognize and honor their sacrifice, encourage independence and connections with communities, and promote healing and wellness through camaraderie and a shared passion for the outdoors.

Our programs rescue the food that would’ve gone to waste and turn it into nutritious, chef-prepared meals, served at no cost to those facing food insecurity. We also provide paid job training to individuals with employment barriers, helping them gain the skills they need to support themselves.

Cleaning our public spaces, parks, neighborhoods, and shorelines is only part of the picture; we’re about people working with people for the betterment of our communities. Keep Pinellas Beautiful provides volunteer opportunities that develop individual responsibility and environmental stewardship. Through hands on participation, people are motivated and inspired with an environmental focus that develops into a true sense of pride and ownership. People feel empowered while volunteering with us because they immediately see the difference they are making in the health and appearance of their surrounding community.
