Sarina Fazan, Emmy Award-Winning Journalist Regular Guest on ”Crime Stories with Nancy Grace”
Sarina Fazan, a four-time Emmy award winner, has spent two decades in journalism committed to groundbreaking work. Now, Sarina will appear as a regular guest on the all-star panel of “Crime Stories with Nancy Grace.”
“I’m appreciative to be valued as an expert journalist weighing in on the cases,” says Sarina.
“Crime Stories with Nancy Grace,” is a podcast show that examines and intrigues by asking controversial questions about extraordinary crimes. The host, Nancy Grace, a journalist, and legal commentator, has a panel of experts from diverse fields who offer their input about criminal cases.
Sarina’s expertise started with a case that earned her an Emmy-- Working on the case left a lasting impression on Sarina, as she sat face-to-face with Julie Schenecker, a former Russian Linguist who got sentenced to life in prison for murdering her two children.
“No one can ever imagine such a heinous crime like this. It rocked the community. My daughter Sammie was only four at the time, and I found myself just staring at her and thinking how could anyone do that to your own child? I started writing Julie every month and continued to do so for four years before she consented to the interview. I wanted answers, even though there isn’t one. The case continues to haunt me and I will go as far and say that interview was personally traumatic, “ says Sarina.
Sarina’s two-part series that revealed why Schenecker says she killed her children is still being recognized today. The series caught the attention of Nancy Grace.
“Nancy was doing a special series called “Murder Moms” and asked me to weigh on the Julie Schenecker case because of my series,” says Sarina. “After the show, her producers asked if I would weigh in on another case and now I am honored to be a frequent contributor to her show. The cases are always very difficult, but now after the launch of my own shows and even my own network, I can speak more freely about my opinions on the cases. I appreciate Nancy giving me that platform.”
