Giving The Gift Of Kindness To Children In Need

Gift giving is a special part of holiday celebrations - and it’s the part that most kids look forward to all year long. That’s why it’s so important to make sure that the children in our community who have been abused, neglected, and abandoned are not left out of the festivities. The interns from Sarina Fazan Media (SFM) and Sky Strategic Marketing, Jordan Vidal and Ian Tengler, stopped by Voices for Children on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, to learn more about their new “Virtual Toy/Gift Card Drive,” to see first-hand how the nonprofit is bringing joy to local children in need, and to discover how you can help give the gift of kindness this season!

During the first weekend of December each year, the Guardian ad Litem of Hillsborough County and Voices for Children host their annual toy shop, so they can provide holiday toys to every child they serve. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Toy Shop will look a bit different, since it’s taking place entirely online! Voices for Children have launched a “Virtual Toy/Gift Card Drive” this year that will last through the holidays. The items will be sent directly to the VFC office to make the holidays special for a child in need.

Gifts such as action figures, culturally diverse dolls, and gift cards are sure to bring smiles to children's faces. Monetary donations are even accepted, and your donation is tax deductible. All funding will be utilized to purchase toys and gift cards, so every child within the nonprofit’s care will have a gift to open this holiday season.

Thanks to community support, Voices for Children typically yield approximately $40,000 of in-kind donations each year through their holiday drive, giving the gift of love and happiness to children throughout the county! In 2019 alone, Voices for Children’s volunteers were able to select 1,308 gifts for 654 kids! You can help spread kindness and holiday joy to even more children by getting involved this year.
