SPREADING KINDNESS: A Mother's Mission after the Loss of Her Only Daughter
DD Brown is holding her annual fundraiser after losing her only daughter. Brooke Brown lost her battle with Lupus at the age of 18, since then, DD Brown has been determined to honor her daughter’s passing by hosting an event titled “Brooke’s Butterfly Bash.”
The bash benefits the Lupus Foundation of America Florida Chapter, chosen because of their primary focus on pediatric research.
We met with DD Brown at Green Lemon, a restaurant in Tampa, Florida. She chose to meet at the location, because her beloved Brooke worked at the restaurant.

“The main mission is to create awareness for pediatric Lupus. I want keep my daughters’ story alive that’s why the event is on her birthday, January the 18th. My tag line is: “By Working Together, We Can Save Children,” said DD.
DD said she hopes to share more on education and awareness efforts at “Brooke’s Butterfly Bash.”
She said the guests will also enjoy entertainment from local musicians and food from local restaurants.
Green Lemon, Love Child, Ciccio Water, and Daily Eats are the restaurants providing food for “Brooke’s Butterfly Bash.
