Liz Montante, one of the owners of Zips Dry Cleaners of South Tampa has helped to raise $300 dollars for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping families.
“Our customers donated tickets worth one, three, and five dollars. And in just a short amount of time we raised three hundred dollars,” says Liz.
Ronald McDonald House Charities has always had a place in Liz’s heart along with her husband Mike Montante and their kids.
“It is such a great organization to help families during their time of stress and gives them a place to call home,” says Liz.
Lisa Suprenand, the Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay, joined Sarina and Liz as she presented the check from the donations.
“We are trying to give these families as much love and support as we can give, and a part of that is food,” says Lisa.
Due to the pandemic, companies were unable to come in and cook meals; therefore, these donations are needed more than ever.
Individuals and organizations such as Alpha Delta Pi sorority feel a connection to this charity because they know exactly how big of an impact these donations are. Last year, Alpha Delta Pi raised over a million dollars for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
As a member of Alpha Delta Pi, Ronald McDonald House Charities is a huge part of their philanthropy. Raising money is just a small part of all that the Ronald McDonald House Charities does, as we get to see the changes we're making in the lives of families. Seeing their reactions to meals that we have cooked for them, and a place they can call home is something I will never forget.
The Ronald McDonald House of Tampa Bay gives families a place to stay while their children are being treated for illnesses and welcomes families no matter the distance they are traveling.
“We want parents to be able to pick the best possible doctor in order to make their child better,” says Lisa.
She continues, “And we allow that to happen as we welcome families from all over to stay while their child is being treated and receive love and support.”
Ronald McDonald House functions through the donations of the community as a whole.
“Two to three hundred people from the community chose to give back; there is never an amount that is too big or too small to help another person,” says Lisa.
Customer support is very important especially in times like this. Right now, local customer support is important as well as helping out others.
“We love our customers! And the fact that they were able to reach into their pockets and donate money for a great cause makes South Tampa a great place to be,” says Liz.
Lisa emphasizes the fact that no donation is too big or too small, and there are so many ways that we can help out the community.
It is important to support local businesses because, in the end, it will help non-profit organizations like Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay.
