EP 7: Love in America: Love, Loss, and New Beginnings
Former TV news anchor Allison is sharing her experiences finding love, navigating grief, and rediscovering happiness with Sarina Fazan in this special episode of “Love In America”.
"Never pass up an opportunity to be happy." It's a quote Allison Kropff has kept in the back of her mind for years. She's glad she didn't pass up the opportunity to swipe right and meet her future husband, CJ. The two met on a dating app and are getting married in 2022. Their relationship also gave her the opportunity to meet her other love, Beamer. CJ's pocket beagle quickly stole her heart, too.
Allison worked as a news anchor in Tampa Bay for 10 years before deciding to start a new adventure. Before moving to Florida she was an anchor in Knoxville, Tennessee and West Virginia. She's covered Super Bowl LV, the Republican National Convention in Tampa, several hurricanes and presidential and local elections.
But if you watched Allison during her time on the news, you know her passion for raising money to fight cancer, specifically with Moffitt Cancer Center. Her late husband Justin passed away in 2015 from ocular melanoma. He was treated at Moffitt and was given two years of life after his diagnosis because of a clinical trial. He was a fighter and inspired so many with his ability to stay positive during the most difficult of times.
Allison couldn't pass up another opportunity to be happy and started a new chapter of her career. She's doing freelance hosting work which has taken her to Las Vegas, Atlanta and Orlando. And she's looking forward to what comes next!
Sarina Fazan started this series because she is truly a matchmaker. Family, friends, and now fans famously refer to Sarina as the woman who “is in love with love.“ She is credited with bringing together seven married couples and now getting ready to celebrate her eighth successful love story! But this time, a first, she will be officiating the wedding in 2022.
The “Love In America” series explores what it means to be in love, find love, and sometimes against all odds keep love. As anyone who had their heart broken knows, love is elusive. These are the stories of Americans who redefined love for themselves and found soulmates, partners, husbands, and wives in the process.
