EP 65: INCREDIBLE STORIES FROM INSPIRING WOMEN: Empowering Women & Offering a Helping Hand

An inspirational journey from a childhood in England to becoming a successful entrepreneur in Tampa Bay, Julie Weintraub, President of the Gold & Diamond Source and the President/Founder of the nonprofit Hands Across The Bay, is the definition of an empowered woman! She joins Sarina Fazan “On The Record,” in the next installment of our “Inspirational Stories From Inspiring Women” series, to share her journey, what she’s doing through her nonprofit to give back, and her passion to help other women empower themselves.

Born in London to an English mother and East Indian father, Julie lived in Brighton, England until 1978. Her father was recruited for an engineering job in the United States, so the family moved. Julie grew up in Clearwater, Florida, and her love of Tampa Bay grew along with her.

In 2004, she married her husband Steve, later joining him at his business, Gold & Diamond Source. She suggested to him that the company should advertise on television, which lead to hundreds of commercials to date and local celebrity! Currently, Julie serves as President, managing manages Marketing, PR, Customer and Community Relations, and Gold & Diamond Source is one of the most successful, family-owned jewelry companies in the Southeast.

Experiencing firsthand what it is like to go through times of hardship and struggle, Julie has always made time to help those less fortunate around her. In 2010, Julie founded Julie Weintraub’s Hands Across The Bay which has quickly become one of our area’s most notable and respected charitable organizations helping countless families in need. Hands Across The Bay works to stabilize families in crisis due to no fault of their own, spread love through random acts of kindness, provide domestic violence awareness and prevention, support small local organizations, and make our community a better place.
