This week, “On The Record with Sarina Fazan” had the pleasure of welcoming Ravi Jakhotia also known as “DJ Ravidrums”. He is visiting Tampa from Los Angeles in anticipation of his big release of the single “Love is the Answer” on October 8th.

Ravi has the infectious energy of a musician who is talented at delivering an electric show to crowds. With his signature mohawk, Ravi is animated and self-deprecating with viewers sharing stories about his eclectic travels around the world. In addition to a hot music career, Ravi shares his traveling experiences on “Off The Beaten Track”. Laughing with eyes crinkling at the camera, Ravi makes his mission clear to the audience to provide viewers with once in a lifetime experience and to push humanity forward.

How does one accomplish such a profound mission? From his beginning, he was an innovator, Ravi was the first to mix drumming and DJing together. The magazines christened him as the hottest thing in live remixes and high-profile engagements followed. From DJing for Oprah to the Prince and Princess of Monaco, Ravi’s talent touched NASA, the Paula Abdul TV show, the Howard Mandel show, and the most exclusive clubs in the world. His energy is committed to the future of DJing. How does one continue to have a vision for the industry he helped shape? By developing a transparent touch dream screen that was used on TV for the last ten years, by having the coolest hair, and by knowing love is always the answer.

His new single, “Love is the Answer”, is part of a new record that came from his love for music. As Ravi says, the parties are amazing that celebrate music and music has the power to unify. A track like “Love is the Answer” is about music and love being the glue for celebrations. From weddings to graduations, Ravi says that everyone from the LA party goer to the Dalai Llama is susceptible to feel the love intertwined in music. For his role, Ravi humbly says he is “addicted to creation and creation is salvation”. He is saving the world through beautiful music one track at a time available, of course, on Spotify.

The viewers of “On The Record With Sarina Fazan” enjoyed the energy between Sarina and Ravi. He mentioned his passion for traveling and working with fascinating individuals like the production manager for Pink Floyd and accomplished musicians that have defined the Brazilian music scene. As a talent, Ravi is obsessed with weaving the pieces of inspiration from his travels into his music. He also has a reverence for his roots in Tampa Bay. His parents still live in Tampa and sometimes he trades the hectic pace of Los Angeles for the familiarity of Tampa. He is a huge fan of the football team, the Tampa Buccaneers, and the phenomenally talented Tom Brady. He is pitching a song to the Bucs that would honor their accomplishments in football. Ravi laughs and says that his inspiration for life is, “What would Tom Brady do?”. Certainly, the viewers of the Sarina Fazan show would agree.
