CATERING BY THE FAMILY IS FEEDING FIRST RESPONDERS

In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, kindness is spreading across Tampa Bay. Sarina had the chance to hit the road with Catering By The Family’s (CBTF) owner, Steve Gonzalez Sr. as he delivers hot food to first responders and families in our community.

Steve says, “We’re going out and about to some of the first responders in the community and delivering to first responders. Helping back the people who have stepped up in the community for us.”

With stops at the Tampa Police Department, the Emergency Operation Center in Ybor City, and the Tampa Fire Rescue Department, CBTF is helping to feed our first responders, taking away at least one of their worries so they can focus their attention on public health and safety.

In addition to these charitable deliveries, CBTF has created a special menu of family favorite meals, including lunch and dinner options, available for pick up or delivery. Many of the meals are freezer-friendly, too.

Steve says, “We’re delivering to people’s homes and offices…the community has really stepped up for us. As like everyone else, restaurants and hotels, I mean we’re all hurting…After 42 years being in business, I’ve created a lot of friendships, they have all called and ordered. It’s amazing what we’re turning out. It’s like family, like the name of the business.”

So why is CBTF doing all of this? Steve says the reason is simple. “We want to give back to the community as they’ve given back to us all these years.”
