Donating Convalescent Plasma is Saving Lives in Tampa Bay

Sarina Fazan interviews citizens and healthcare workers who are encouraging those to become convalescent plasma donors.

Michael Seymour has made donating convalescent plasma a routine. He has already donated three times. Every time he is eligible, you will find him onboard OneBlood’s Big Red Bus doing his part to help combat COVID-19.

For Seymour and others like him, each donation is deeply personal.

“My wife passed away from the virus, and it’s the least I can do to help others,” said Seymour

Orlando Davis is a voice, greeting thousands of people every morning. He is a radio host on Orlando & the Freakshow on WiLD 94.1.

And, now Davis is taking his radio show on the road sharing his journey. He is donating convalescent plasma on OneBlood’s Big Red bus, after recovering from the coronavirus.

Eduardo and Christine Juarez, just celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary. They’ve had a lot of great times and tough times, but this year, a test of strength they never imagined. They now have oxygen machines in their home just to help them breathe after both of them were diagnosed with the coronavirus.

The couple received convalescent plasma donations through OneBlood. They said it saved their lives and now they are determined to pay it forward.
